before the baby is born: a SLR camera because baby's expressions changes faster than most of the point&shoot camera can capture, and infant car seat (Graco snugride) + stroller.
0-3 month: bouncer; swing; mobile; front baby carrier (e.g., baby bjorn).
4-6 month: baby gym; teether; musical or simple toys, such as the Alphabet Pal by LeapFrog, brilliant basics Brilliant Basics Rock-a-Stack by fisher price,tap-a-tune piano by little tikes, Swirling Surprise Gumball machine by Fisher Price; board books of baby faces, pets, foods, etc..
7-9 month: exersaucer; if your baby doesn't like stroller, a back carrier (Evenflo Snugli Cross Country); musical toys such as the LeapFrog play and learn table,Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen etc.
10-12 month: convertible car seat; walker (some may say it's not safe, so does my book, but my daughter spent so much time in it walking around in the house and had lots of fun); large lego; Winnie the Pooh: Magic Rattle 'n Ride; pull or push-around toys
12-15: wagon (e.g., Radio Flyer Discovery Wagon), playhouse, if it is warm weather, sand and water table (e.g.,Naturally Playful Sand and Water Activity Center by step 2) , all kinds of bouncing balls, easy to do puzzles (e.g.: Magnetic Fishing Game by Melissa & Doug).
This is the stage we are at now.
